Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate materials from the employer, L&I, and medical sources and issue appropriate documentation as needed including certificates of insurance, auto insurance ID cards, etc.
- Organize and prioritize work and new claims based on multiple criteria and contact customers and/or underwriters to obtain additional information or answer questions
- Work with the employer to effectively investigate, respond to, and mitigate claims
- Aid customers with identifying light duty opportunities and implementing return-to-work strategies
- Communicate with medical providers to determine medical outlook, timelines, physical restrictions, and appropriateness of treatment
- Develop plans of action for each claim
- Advise and educate customers on best practices for workers’ compensation
- Check the work of L&I Department employees to ensure proper procedure is being followed, actions are timely, and errors do not result in increased costs for customers
- Communicate with L&I employees and advocate on behalf of customers
- Cook up with the Brown & Brown team to provide financial analytics and execute on overall service plan for customers
- Attend training sessions, courses, etc. to maintain up-to-date skills
Requirements
- Experience with Washington workers’ compensation claims management, required
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, required
- High attention to detail, required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, required
- Bachelor’s Degree, a plus, not required with appropriate experience
- Basic understanding of the insurance industry, a plus, not required
