Workers Comp & Leave Coordinator

About the role

The Worker’s Compensation/Leave of Absence Coordinator will lead all aspects of the workers comp and leave management program across all locations. This person will prepare and send correspondence, enter status updates on files, administer company policy regarding Worker's Compensation, FMLA, WMLA, Short and Long Term Disability, and provide excellent customer service. The individual will serve as the company’s subject matter expert for all workers’ compensation and leave of absence cases.

Responsibilities

• Administer company policies regarding Leave of Absence and Worker’s Compensation
• Apply knowledge of FMLA, WMLA, Short Term & Long-Term Disability
• Partner with insurance carriers, medical facilities, and providers on claims
• Process incoming and outgoing correspondence daily
• Work directly with employees in one-on-one settings or over the phone to assist with leave questions and policies
• Provide leadership to HR teams across the organization with case management updates
• Participate in department projects and initiatives efficiently and positively
• Stay up to date and follow government regulations around WC/LOA
• Partner with legal counsel as needed
• Multitask between several cases at one time
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in worker’s compensation and leave of absence
• Cloud-based HCM system experience preferred (UKG)
• Ability to process and maintain confidential information
• High attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
