About the role

To work under supervision performing a variety of strenuous unskilled and semi-skilled tasks.

Responsibilities

• Digging, excavating, trenching, and backfilling
• Keeping facility clean and organized
• Building forms and stripping forms
• Mixing and pouring concrete and castables
• Performing or assisting with minor maintenance and repairs
• Assisting in clean-up before and after maintenance work
• Adhering to all CEMEX and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wearing proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
• Meeting or exceeding company safety standards
• Performing other job responsibilities as assigned by management

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• High school education preferred
• Bilingual ability is a plus

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location

Physical Requirements

• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
• Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Must be able to talk and hear to communicate safely around heavy rolling equipment
• Must be able to push, turn, and/or pull controls
• Must pass DOT physical, including back x-ray, hearing test, and drug/alcohol screen

Pay

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $24.10 to $27.00 per hour, depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
