Workday Systems Supervisor- PATT (Payroll, Time, & Absence)
About the Role
The Workday Systems Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team supporting Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality system support, configuration, testing, integrations, and user enablement activities. This role oversees day-to-day operations while partnering with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), Payroll, HR Technology, and business stakeholders to support effective system functionality, process improvements, compliance, and user adoption. The supervisor provides leadership to the team by balancing operational priorities, coaching team members, and ensuring work is delivered accurately and efficiently. This role also serves as a functional subject matter expert for Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence, supporting configuration, troubleshooting, Workday releases, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of hands-on Workday experience supporting Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence within a post-production environment.
- 1–2+ years of experience leading, supervising, mentoring, or serving as a team lead for Workday or HRIS professionals.
- Strong experience configuring and supporting Workday Payroll, Workday Time Tracking, Workday Absence, Payroll Business Processes, Pay Calculations, Accruals, and Leave Management.
- Experience supporting Workday integrations, including inbound and outbound interfaces, EIBs, and third-party payroll solutions.
- Proven experience managing production support activities, system enhancements, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience gathering business requirements and partnering directly with Payroll, HR Centers of Excellence, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Workday business process configuration, security impacts, reporting, integrations, and tenant administration.
- Experience supporting quarterly Workday releases, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), feature evaluations, and production deployments.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production and integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend scalable solutions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
