Workday Solutions Developer

This is a 100% remote, full-time, direct W2 position with a salary range of $100,000–$150,000 annually. We are seeking a Workday Solutions Developer with broad expertise across Workday configuration, reporting, calculated fields, business process design, and Workday Extend application development.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex calculated fields, custom reports, and advanced reports using the Workday report writer
- Build composite reports, matrix reports, and dashboards supporting business decision-making
- Configure and maintain business processes, condition rules, and approval routing across HCM and Finance
- Develop Workday Extend applications and PRISM analytics where appropriate, packaging custom logic in supported platform extensions rather than fragile customizations that complicate future upgrades
- Build report-as-a-service integrations and support data export needs for downstream systems
- Configure security domains, role-based security, and segment-based security across complex tenants
- Partner with HR, payroll, and finance stakeholders to translate requirements into Workday configurations
- Develop and maintain documentation for business processes, calculated fields, and security models
- Support Workday tenant refreshes, regression testing cycles, and platform release adoption, validating configuration and reports against expected behavior before each move into production
- Troubleshoot configuration and report issues in production tenants, working closely with functional teams to isolate root causes, propose remediation, and prevent recurrence through configuration improvements
- Collaborate closely with integration developers on report-driven data flows, gathering requirements, aligning on technical approach, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet both functional needs and broader engineering and operational standards
- Provide guidance on Workday best practices and configuration design patterns
- Participate in Workday community forums, brainstorms, and product feedback channels, contributing field perspective and bringing back valuable insights and emerging best practices to the broader team
- Stay current with Workday releases and platform innovations, regularly review release notes and community discussions, and translate noteworthy advances into concrete recommendations and adoption proposals for the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Five or more years of Workday technical experience
- Deep expertise in Workday report writer including advanced and composite reports
- Strong proficiency with calculated fields across HCM and Finance
- Hands-on experience configuring business processes and condition rules
- Strong understanding of Workday security framework
- Experience with PRISM Analytics or Workday Extend
- Familiarity with Workday tenant management and release process
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Pro certifications
- Experience with Workday Extend application development
- Familiarity with PRISM data ingestion and modeling
- Exposure to multi-tenant or multi-region Workday deployments
- Experience supporting Workday Payroll or Workday Financials
Pay
The salary range for this position is $100,000–$150,000 annually.
