SHR Talent has partnered with a nationally recognized industrial leader within the oil and gas industry in New Orleans, LA to find a qualified Workday Finance Lead. This role serves as a liaison between business subject matter experts and IT, focusing on business process improvement and system enhancements.

About the Role

This individual will collaborate with business partners to identify challenges and opportunities, streamline processes, and ensure efficient system design. They will consult on system feasibility, capabilities, and problem resolution, assist in defining business requirements, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and provide hands-on training. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, partnering with finance and IT stakeholders, managing third-party vendors, and delivering Workday Finance solutions that improve controls, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product areas across Accounting, Banking & Settlement, Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Assets, Projects, and Reporting.
  • Oversee biannual software updates, including impact analysis and regression testing.
  • Gather and document business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Retrieve and analyze data via SQL.
  • Analyze and document legacy schema, including domain and entity relationship diagrams.
  • Redesign legacy schema and perform schema data modeling.
  • Develop wireframes, test plans for UAT, training documentation, and supporting materials.
  • Document existing systems from both business usage and technical perspectives.
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Document business processes using BPMN 2.0 standards.
  • Conduct demos, presentations, and assist in business development initiatives.
  • Advise customers on solutions that address business problems and ensure successful adoption.
  • Develop reusable templates and processes to ensure delivery excellence.
  • Facilitate user workshop sessions and engage with technical and QA teams to ensure systems meet business needs.
  • Ensure developed solutions align with business requirements and maintain client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in systems analysis and requirements gathering.
  • 3+ years of experience as a developer, business analyst, or systems analyst.
  • 3+ years of experience in software configuration phases, including application design and implementation.
  • 3+ years of experience writing system requirements.
  • 3+ years of experience with Workday Finance.
  • 3+ years of experience working on SaaS solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of requirements gathering techniques and ability to run client workshops.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into solutions and work with technical teams to deliver them.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with MS Azure DevOps or similar tools like JIRA, Confluence, or other project management tools.
  • Exposure to Workday Strategic Sourcing and Evisort is a plus.
  • Ability to work onsite in New Orleans (at least initially, with potential for a hybrid schedule).
