Responsibilities
- Translate detailed accounting scenarios into Workday Accounting Center configurations, including event definitions, posting logic, and journal output.
- Direct data mapping efforts for transaction feeds coming from multiple external and legacy platforms, ensuring source data supports accounting and reporting needs.
- Build and maintain reconciliation approaches that validate balances between feeder systems, subledger activity, and the Workday General Ledger.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to align chart of accounts structures, worktags, and supporting attributes for consistent financial reporting.
- Lead accounting-focused validation during system testing, end-to-end test cycles, and parallel reviews, resolving defects related to mappings and posting behavior.
- Act as a key point of coordination across corporate accounting, IT, data engineering, and implementation partners to preserve accounting accuracy throughout the process.
- Assess incoming transaction detail for completeness and quality, supporting effective data loading strategies into Workday-related pipelines.
- Investigate posting exceptions and data issues, recommending corrective actions that improve control, traceability, and financial integrity.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience delivering Workday Accounting Center solutions within active enterprise implementation environments.
- Strong foundation in accounting operations, including subledger design, automated posting logic, revenue and expense treatment, and financial controls.
- Demonstrated ability to map complex, high-volume transactional data from multiple upstream systems into Workday-focused data structures.
- Working knowledge of Workday Financials, including General Ledger, worktags, business processes, and related data pipeline concepts.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and techniques, including SQL, data mapping, and data loading practices.
- Experience partnering with both business and technical teams to translate accounting needs into scalable system solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Workday Accounting Center, Workday Prism Analytics, or similar implementation certifications are a plus.
