Work Trade Team Member - Site Host

THE SANDBOX Work Trade positions are specialized roles that help fill gaps on our team. We ask for a six-month commitment from Work Trade team members and fill roles on a rolling basis. In exchange for 4 hours of work per week, we offer a coworking membership and five hours of meeting room time at THE SANDBOX per month. You’ll have full access to the space and all its amenities, just like any other member.

Responsibilities

• Commit to at least 4 hours per week working at THE SANDBOX, including a host shift to extend coverage hours and build community connections.
• Answer general questions about THE SANDBOX, serving as a welcoming face and expert on our work, goals, memberships, and event space.
• Lead occasional walk-in or scheduled tours of the space, even when staff or the owner are not present.
• Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of THE SANDBOX by monitoring and tidying common areas, such as empty coffee pots or stray items left on tables.

Qualifications

• Interest in small business, entrepreneurship, and innovation, as most members are running businesses or working for innovative companies.
• Outgoing and curious about the space and its members, with a willingness to engage in a social coworking environment.
• Knowledge of and interest in Santa Barbara, Paso Robles, the Central Coast, and local neighborhoods to provide recommendations to visitors.
