About the role

Student will perform a support role assisting lab technicians and managers in the chemistry labs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory preparations, setting up laboratory rooms for faculty teaching lab classes.
• Set up student laboratory exercises (lab preps) on labeled carts for classroom use.
• Clean and sanitize laboratory rooms after labs are performed.
• Wash laboratory glassware and other supplies as part of lab cleanup.
• Check for sufficient quantities of lab materials (distilled water, exam gloves, paper towels, soap) in laboratory classrooms and Bio-prep areas.
• Maintain 6 credit hours each semester and satisfactory academic progress.
• Adhere to the College’s confidentiality policy.
• Successfully pass background/drug screening.
• Maintain open lab time as scheduled.
• Help maintain facilities and perform general maintenance tasks.
• Work with specialized equipment, including chemicals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with minimal instruction.
• Preference given to currently enrolled students in a related major.
