About the role

Join our team of Work Equipment Mechanic! These employees maintain and repair tools, equipment, and machines for our engineering department. You'll work with several types of equipment to help ensure Union Pacific can continue to safely and efficiently transport goods to customers across North America! Responsibilities

• Work with and inspect tools, roadway machines, vehicles, and equipment
• Perform maintenance and repair; troubleshoot malfunctions
• Plan, organize, and track information; coordinate the work of others
• Coordinate with others orally or in writing; work with information in print or on a computer
• Understand and follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and/or customers and effectively handle controversy
• Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• Have a valid driver's license
• Have an acceptable driving record per your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• May be required
