Woodyard Operator I

Full-time, permanent on-site position in Morehouse, LA.

About the role

Operate a log crane, chipper/debarker, and/or mobile equipment at a wood pellet manufacturing facility. Perform equipment maintenance and handle administrative duties to support Wood Yard operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment, including log cranes, wheel loaders, knuckle booms, skid steers, and man lifts.
• Cross-train in all applicable heavy equipment operations as needed.
• Anticipate and diagnose problems; perform routine or preventive maintenance.
• Carry out routine administrative functions and utilize checklists to maintain inventory and production reports.
• Perform housekeeping duties and ensure designated areas are clean and free of safety hazards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating industrial equipment.
• Experience in wood or fibre procurement or the forestry industry is beneficial.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Computer literate, capable of performing basic tasks such as sending emails and reviewing work documentation.
