About the role
The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is home to a thriving private lesson program that serves students throughout the region. As the area's largest family-owned music retailer, we're proud to offer high-quality music instruction in a welcoming, organized, and supportive studio environment. We're currently looking for an enthusiastic and dependable woodwinds instructor to join our team at our Gambrills studio. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music-centered community that truly values education.
Availability Needed
- One weeknight from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or one recurring 4-hour block on Saturdays

Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
- Create a positive, encouraging, and educational lesson environment
- Help students grow musically, prepare for recitals, and inspire participation in performance opportunities
- Communicate timely and professionally with students, parents, and staff
- Keep accurate attendance and lesson records using our digital scheduling system
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm every day
Qualifications
- A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
- A bachelor's degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
- Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
- Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment

Pay
$34-44/hr, determined by qualifications and experience.
