Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes over a wood-fired grill, following approved recipes and specifications accurately and timely.
- Work across different kitchen line stations as needed based on business demands.
- Cook menu items in coordination with the kitchen team to ensure dishes are delivered simultaneously at appropriate times.
- Weigh and measure ingredients; use recipes to produce dishes up to Jean-Georges standards.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and food presentation.
- Ensure food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation meet Jean-Georges standards.
- Maintain department cleanliness and organization; adhere to safe work practices and food safety, health, and sanitation standards.
- Properly store and/or discard leftover food; label, date, initial, cover, and rotate all products following FIFO (first in, first out).
- Set up, stock stations, and replenish kitchen inventory and supplies as needed.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including being ready for scheduled shifts in uniform and per uniform standards.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Culinary degree and/or certificate is highly desirable.
- Minimum of one year of related restaurant experience; fine dining and high-volume experience required.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking.
- Demonstrated experience with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Experience working multiple kitchen stations.
- Working knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to take direction and follow recipes to designated specifications.
- Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills conducive to a productive teamwork environment.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic, team player mentality, and customer-focused approach.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully under ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Frequent movement on foot to accomplish tasks, including moving between locations within the property.
- Frequent bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and extending arms above shoulder height in a constantly changing environment.
- Regularly climbing steps.
Pay
The base pay range for this position is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour. Compensation within this range depends on factors such as prior employment history, job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
