Location: Bradley Estate, Canton, MA
Duration: September – January (employment window subject to change)
Hours: Variable, up to 40 hours per week

About the Role

Winterlights is an outdoor light event showcasing the beauty of select Trustees properties. The gardens at Bradley Estate and Naumkeag will feature thousands of shimmering holiday lights, attracting over 16,000 visitors. As part of the Winterlights Production Crew, you will support event operations, including admissions, check-in, retail, concessions, and setup for the seasonal display. This role also assists with stewardship projects and other assigned duties.

The event runs November 27 – January 2, Wednesday–Sunday (closed December 24–25; open December 21–22, 28–29, and January 1).

Responsibilities

• Support event setup, including planning and installing lights, sets, and decorative displays, stocking supplies, and preparing the property for public visitation.
• Enhance the visitor experience through admissions, retail support, concessions, and wayfinding.
• Conduct safety patrols, monitor facilities, and ensure clean and functional event spaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned, with or without accommodation.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees, volunteers, members, and the public.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong commitment to The Trustees’ mission.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.
• Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Current authorization to work in the U.S. by the first day of employment.
• Satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Point-of-sale experience (e.g., cash registers, Toast).
• Experience in food service or customer service (e.g., barista, restaurant, retail).
• Experience or interest in lighting, design, decor, or staging.
