About the role

As a Tax Intern, you’ll be provided with tools and training to gain professional skills and experience through a structured learning program that combines class theory with real-world applications. The Winter Internship Program runs during our busy season, typically beginning in early January and ending in April or May, depending on your department.

Responsibilities

• Preparing tax returns and tax extensions
• Organizing tax information
• Assisting with tax notices and examinations
• Maintaining working knowledge of tax preparation software used in the office
• Performing various administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

• Be a junior or in the year prior to graduation (dependent on 4- or 5-year program)
• Have completed at least one tax class
• Have the flexibility to work a minimum of 25 hours each week
• Have the flexibility to work weekends as needed
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Participant in the VITA Program
