About the role
In this seminar, we will peer through the window of the workshop to better understand medieval and early modern makers, their work, and the world they inhabited. Practical aspects, such as materials, techniques, and the economics of craft will be considered in conjunction with intellectual and spiritual aspects of making as they relate to concepts of labour, perfection, and the imagination.
Estimated course enrolment: 10. Delivery mode: in-person.
Responsibilities
- Teach the course based on the syllabus and assignment guidelines provided by the program
- Mark assignments and tests in a timely fashion
- Hold one office hour per week
- Follow College and University code of conduct and policies
Requirements
- PhD and evidence of established, up-to-date research expertise in the field of the program is essential
- University-level teaching experience in this field, with evidence of successful teaching, is preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential

Class meets Friday 11 AM – 1 PM. Appointment dates: January 6, 2027 – May 10, 2027.
Pay
$9,997.28 for the term.
