Responsibilities

• Guide guests through a wine experience that exceeds their expectations, driving sales and providing excellent service and wine knowledge.
• Pair wine and food for guests as requested or as helpful.
• Communicate with guests, management, and staff in a courteous and professional manner throughout the dining experience.
• Maintain the physical inventory and evolve the wine list.
• Drive sales at all times, considering guest preferences and budget parameters, using suggestive selling techniques.
• Build Open Table Guest notes database to enhance future service and sales.
• Manage inventory levels, restock as needed, and ensure proper service of wine.
• Maintain wine stock in service areas and ensure cleanliness and organization.
• Participate in ongoing crew wine education and actively engage in all aspects of service.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and assist with inventory and ordering tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• High school graduate, some college
• Level 1 Court of Masters, WSET level 2, or equivalent certification
• Current CA Food Handler’s Card
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
• Ability to add Guest notes to Open Table database
• Ability to open wine/champagne bottles with ease
• Knowledgeable about major winemaking regions, vineyards, styles, vintages, and producers
• Understanding of state liquor regulations, particularly those related to serving minors and intoxicated persons

Benefits

Competitive hourly rate plus commission ($16.90 - $18 per hour, plus commission on bottles of wine)
