The Wine Planner reports to the Senior Manager of Winemaking and is responsible for interpreting and analyzing complex wine plans, scheduling, and supply. This role directs, schedules, and monitors daily cellar and winemaking operations, ensuring familiarity with standard operating procedures and basic winemaking processes.

Responsibilities

  • Meet daily with department manager to discuss operations.
  • Understand domestic bulk wine, export bulk wine, and export case good logistics and shipments.
  • Schedule cellar processing operations and tank availability.
  • Assign blend and filter tasks, follow up with winemaking on bottling blends, and ensure work orders align with timelines for equipment and scheduling.
  • Monitor performance of cellar processing daily and provide real-time feedback on progress.
  • Coordinate with the production department on bottling blends.
  • Review completed process orders to monitor adherence to schedules and provide feedback on work order validation timeliness.
  • Review processing equipment logs for schedule adherence.
  • Monitor daily processing analysis and follow up as needed.
  • Monitor weekly analytical analysis of bulk wines where needed.
  • Develop and utilize scheduling and planning tools as well as KPIs to measure success and challenges.
  • Work with the Sr. Manager of Winemaking on Wine and Grape Supply, providing technical support for tracking and reporting.
  • Handle other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of supply chain, production, operations, or finance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting various reports and documents.
  • Ability to present issues clearly and concisely, generating accurate analysis with a strong understanding of cause and effect for alternative solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and exposure to AI platforms.
  • Experience with project management, Vintrace or other MES/ERP systems relating to production/operations.
  • SQL or APICS certification is a plus.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple inputs and variables from winemaking and operations to align timelines efficiently and effectively.
  • Influence and encourage others to consider all perspectives for the best possible outcome in efficiency and quality.
  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organize data, timelines, and coordinate between winemaking and production teams (bottling and cellar).

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent forward reach.
  • Frequent walking and sitting.

Work Environment

  • Office and production environment (bottling and cellar).
  • High noise level.
  • Indoor climate.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required when in the production facility: side shield safety glasses, safety vest, head/ear protection, and proper footwear.

Pay

$22.93 to $31.35 per hour.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, onsite position. Travel requirements: 7-10% based on business needs.
