About the role

The TOP Wind Technician Level 1 position is part of the Tech One Program (TOP), a structured career development program for entry‑level wind technicians created through a partnership between Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas. Technicians receive exclusive safety and technical training accredited by the Global Wind Organization (GWO), including Basic Safety Training (First Aid, CPR, Fall Protection), Tower Safety Training (high‑angle or wind tower rescue), and Technical Training (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems). They primarily work at a wind site near home, operating as part of a service team to ensure safe and efficient turbine maintenance. The role reports directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician during assignments. Responsibilities include performing all preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment, maintaining and repairing machinery used in power generation (turbines, generators), and noting that work inside cabinets/controllers requires direct supervision from a certified Electrical Technician. Additional duties may be assigned to support customer needs and advance Sky Climber’s mission, values, and long‑term vision. This is a full‑time paid position with all training provided upon hire.

Sky Climber Renewables is an independent wind field services organization focused on utility‑scale wind power, employing over 750 field technicians and professionals dedicated to safe, reliable, and qualified services.
