As a Wind Site Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of wind turbines, contributing to clean and reliable energy for communities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair wind turbines to ensure continuous energy production.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and perform regular safety inspections.
- Collaborate with your team to improve turbine performance and share best practices.
- Document work activities and contribute to operational process improvements.
- Accurately time code all work activities to track task duration, progress, and efficiency.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience with a Wind Technician certificate, or 1 year of wind turbine experience, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to responsibilities.
- Commitment to safety and best practices in all work activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical fitness to work in various conditions, including at heights.
- Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver’s license.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Qualifications
Candidates with the following certifications from the Global Wind Organization (GWO) are preferred and eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of $2,500 USD / $3,300 CAD (eligibility requirements apply):
- Basic Safety Training (BST)
- Basic Technical Training (BTT)
- Advanced Rescue Training (ART)

Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Hearing ability to use telephones and close-range radios.
- Visual acuity, including depth perception, field of vision, and color distinction.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to climb stairs and vertical ladders to heights of 60–100 meters, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to complete safety training and certifications, including LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest & High Angle Rescue, Emergency Descent, and Confined Space.
- Successful participation in controlled descent practical exercises.
- Combined weight of employee, PPE, and gear must not exceed 300 lbs (PPE and gear may weigh up to 40 lbs).
