Key Responsibilities
- Travel extensively across the entire company fleet, often with minimal advance notice
- Perform large corrective maintenance and major component replacements on wind turbine generators, including but not limited to gearboxes, generators, main bearings, blades, and other major assemblies
- Execute precision mechanical work such as component replacement, torquing, alignment, and critical fastener verification
- Perform advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on wind turbine systems
- Work safely at heights of 300+ feet while adhering to all fall protection and rescue requirements
- Apply rigging principles to support safe lifting operations and assist in directing crane movements during component removal and installation
- Operate effectively in high-stress, time-sensitive environments driven by wind conditions, crane schedules, and outage windows
- Maintain, inspect, and properly use all company-supplied tools, equipment, vehicles, and facilities
- Apply a solid understanding of technical procedures, work instructions, and Quality Improvement (QI) processes
- Provide safety oversight to other personnel and serve as a safety mentor when required
- Maintain all physical demands of the role, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with demonstrated experience in industrial or heavy equipment maintenance
- Proven experience performing complex maintenance or repairs in challenging environments
- Working knowledge of rigging practices, load dynamics, and hand signals or radio communication for crane operations
- Ability to safely work at extreme heights (300+ feet) and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in stressful, fast-paced situations with tight time constraints
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with crane operators, supervisors, and team members
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively on a fleet-wide basis
- Availability for weekend, night, and extended-hour work as required
- Ability to meet all physical demands of the role, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces
- Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
- Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
- Post-Offer Functional Capacity Eval
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with major component replacements on wind turbines
- Crane and heavy lift support experience in wind, industrial, or construction environments
- Formal training or certification in rigging, lifting operations, or technical wind systems
- Experience serving in a safety leadership or mentoring role
