About the role

This is a permanent position based out of Wolf Ridge near Muenster, TX and will require 80% travel. Join the nation's largest infrastructure developer as a Seasonal Blade Technician at NextEra Energy. As a Seasonal Blade Technician you will be the critical front-line to ensure the safe and optimal performance of all wind farm operations. You will primarily focus on the safe execution of field-based equipment maintenance, diagnostics, as well as long-term reliability and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment with qualified leader experience
  • Travel extensively with little or no notice within the entire company fleet
  • Perform electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting; assess damage; and conduct repairs on structural components of wind turbine blades, as well as maintenance, rigging, and operation of blade repair platforms and boom trucks
  • Maintain all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
  • Provide oversight to other personnel and serve in the capacity of Safety Mentor
  • Participate as a team leader by organizing pre and post job meetings, communicating with site management, and ordering parts/materials
  • Apply a general understanding of all technical and process functions as well as a solid understanding of the Quality Improvement (QI) process
  • Lead daily crew meetings
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Implement Operation Safety Policy Instructions, conduct field work in compliance with OSHA applicable regulations, encourage good employee safety practices, and drive an unparalleled employee safety culture
  • Participate in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects
  • Recruit and develop other technicians for the ongoing development of team
  • Support site manager for all phases of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and turbine availability
  • Collaborate closely with internal NextEra users to develop and implement operation focused feedback and solutions for planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development, and financial performance
  • Present a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with the customer
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 1+ years OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
  • Post-Offer Functional Capacity Evaluation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Equivalent Experience
  • Trade School Graduate
  • Experience: 2+ years
  • Commercial Driver's License
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager

Employee Group: Non Exempt

Schedule

These jobs are seasonal. Employees hired into seasonal jobs will be on leave during the months of December and January. Full-time employee benefits will continue during this period of time and employees will be responsible for paying the missed employee portion of the benefits premiums on their first pay check after their return to work.
