About the role

Will Fraser joined CGI in 2014 as a graduate consultant and has since grown into a senior consultant and lead software engineer. His career has focused on driving the evolution of a CGI solution dedicated to hydrocarbon accounting in the oil and gas industry, expanding its strategic direction and scope to serve clients across the broader energy sector.

As a tech lead, Will is responsible for developing the solution’s future roadmap, incorporating market and technology trends, migrating to new technologies, rethinking user experience, and designing new proofs of concept. His work involves leadership, planning, and innovation to ensure the solution remains relevant to clients' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction and evolution of a hydrocarbon accounting solution for the energy sector.
  • Plan and design the solution’s future roadmap, including expanding its scope to broader energy clients.
  • Migrate solutions to new technologies and rethink user experience to align with market trends.
  • Develop and test new proofs of concept to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with global teams to foster creativity and overcome challenges.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in development and leadership roles.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant field from the University of Aberdeen.
  • Master’s degree in Advanced Security and Digital Forensics (achieved with distinction).
  • Nearly a decade of experience at CGI, progressing from junior consultant to tech lead.
  • Experience in software development, leadership, and strategic planning for enterprise solutions.
