Wilbert Plastic Services 2nd Shift Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Tend plastic molding machines to prepare raw materials for production.
• Assist with the removal and cleanup of raw materials after production runs.
• Prepare workstations before starting production.
• Study production schedules to determine material and product requirements, movements, and deliveries.
• Move stock between staging areas, gate areas, and production areas, using equipment like forklifts.
• Stage materials in dryers for color and mold changes, reducing downtime.
• Identify materials ready for production and obtain necessary packaging supplies.
• Ensure raw material supplies are full and unused material is returned to staging/gate.
• Notify technicians and quarantine contaminated or questionable material.
• Set up grinders for scrap materials and oversee their grinding.
• Maintain auxiliary equipment and move it as needed.
• Unload finished products and ensure they are properly disposed of.
• Lead machine clean-up efforts, ensuring raw materials are not damaged or contaminated.
• Scan materials, components, Work-in-Process (WIP), and finished goods as required for movement within the building.
• Maintain filters, dryers, drying ovens, vacuum stations, and grinders.
• Assist with inventory preparation and counting.
• Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any needed repairs.
• Use forklifts and other equipment safely, observing all safety requirements.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating plastic molding machines.
• Ability to read and understand production schedules.
• Knowledge of basic forklift operation and safety.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong organizational skills.
