WIC Site Nutritionist

About the role

The WIC Site Nutritionist manages and supervises the daily program services for the WIC clinic site(s).

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily operations at site(s) are implemented in compliance with all federal and state regulations and that all TVCCA Policies and Procedures are followed.
• Lead the WIC staff to provide excellent customer service with a diverse population.
• Problem solve and make decisions on site related issues.
• Certify the nutritional eligibility of program participants, and provide nutrition education and individual diet counseling with the use of Motivational Interviewing.
• Work evenings, weekends and a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the clinic, including performing all necessary duties.
• Client contacts are 80% and administrative are 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution with a major in foods and nutrition, or community nutrition, or nutrition education, or nutrition sciences.
• Four years of full time work experience with nutrition in a health agency, or health facility.
• At least 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong computer skills.
• Must possess decision making, creative problem solving, organizational and leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to insured vehicle.
• Experience in a WIC clinic desirable.
• Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
