About the role
The WIC Site Nutritionist manages and supervises the daily program services for the WIC clinic site(s).
Responsibilities
- Ensure daily operations at site(s) are implemented in compliance with all federal and state regulations and that all TVCCA Policies and Procedures are followed.
- Lead the WIC staff to provide excellent customer service with a diverse population.
- Problem solve and make decisions on site related issues.
- Certify the nutritional eligibility of program participants, and provide nutrition education and individual diet counseling with the use of Motivational Interviewing.
- Work evenings, weekends and a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the clinic, including performing all necessary duties.
- Client contacts are 80% and administrative are 20%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution with a major in foods and nutrition, or community nutrition, or nutrition education, or nutrition sciences.
- Four years of full time work experience with nutrition in a health agency, or health facility.
- At least 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must possess decision making, creative problem solving, organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to insured vehicle.
- Experience in a WIC clinic desirable.
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
