Position Summary
Responsible for providing nutrition assessment and counseling to ensure WIC Program services are provided to eligible participants
Principal Responsibilities
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
- Delivers a high level of customer service to assure positive patient experience
- Completes comprehensive nutrition health assessment to determine WIC Program eligibility
- Affords nutrition education in appropriate format
- Develops and maintains network of social services, food and community resources
- Assesses daily clinic flow and makes adjustments as necessary
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition from accredited Plan IV, V or Didactic Program of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics OR Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Approval from NJ State WIC Office required
- Experience with culturally diverse population
- Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Computer experience preferred
- Valid drivers license
Working Conditions/Physical Demand
Busy clinic environment at various locations in the community; ability to carry/lift 40 lbs; requires setting up tables and chairs; requires transporting supplies and equipment to WIC clinics; responsible for laptop and related equipment.
Pay
In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the compensation range for this position is USD $26.00 to USD $34.00.
