About the role
We are a private, not-for-profit organization that coordinates public health grants for a 26-county region in central PA. This full-time position supports the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program in Lewistown.
Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments and determine eligibility
- Collect data and conduct nutrition interviews
- Prescribe food benefits
- Perform various duties to ensure delivery of WIC benefits, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support
- Local travel within Mifflin and Juniata Counties
- Some early evening and Saturday hours
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- One year of related experience
- Preferred qualifications (not required):
- Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered (NDTR) credential with an associate degree
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, health education, or a related field
- College-level coursework in nutrition, dietetics, public health, health education, or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Previous WIC experience preferred but not required
