About the Role

Oversee and own day-to-day client relationship management for commercial clients assigned to the Advisory Desk. Ensure daily interaction with clients resulting in retention, cross-sell opportunities, and client satisfaction and loyalty. Maintain and develop credit commitments while adhering to Fifth Third Bank Commercial Loan Policy. Through daily client contact, ensure excellent customer service, appropriate realization of fees within Fifth Third guidelines, and client document files and account operation according to compliance and regulatory guidelines.

Manage product enhancement initiatives for clients, including cross-sell penetration and introduction of new services to key clients. Extend and monitor existing and proposed credit commitments, provide high-level industry-specific customer service support, and assist in cross-sell efforts as a trusted advisor. Ensure the appropriate booking and reporting of collateralized deposits.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieve results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for retention and client satisfaction/loyalty through proactive day-to-day service for assigned clients.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of Fifth Third’s services and promote those services to key client contacts to drive additional revenue or improve overall operating margin.
  • Work independently and serve as the key daily contact for assigned clients.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve, determining if issues require escalation.
  • Respond to client requests for information, resolve questions, and address service issues.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors or internal business partners to resolve client questions and issues.
  • Oversee the successful conversion process for new clients and de-conversion for departing clients, meeting tight deadlines and acting independently to solve project plan obstacles.
  • Ensure successful implementation of new client services, coordinating with internal or external parties and addressing issues independently to meet tight deadlines.
  • Represent the Bank in civic, government, community, charitable, banking, and professional groups to promote the Bank’s positive image.
  • Review and approve fee invoices, follow up with clients to ensure payment, and monitor billing accuracy.
  • Meet with clients as needed.
  • Utilize CRM to maintain consistent records of client communication.
  • Ensure appropriate booking and reporting of collateralized deposits.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Provide guidance to more junior team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • 4-year college degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience operating in an environment that stresses both individual accountability and team-based performance.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Commercial credit underwriting experience required.

Pay

Total base pay range: $71,100.00 – $145,900.00 USD annually. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, experience, education, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for incentive compensation based on company, line of business, and/or individual performance.
