Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers
- Identify sources, creatively place risks, and uncover new product opportunities
- Manage accounts of varying sizes, with a focus on developing and handling complex property placements independently
- Identify and cultivate new brokerage markets and products to expand business opportunities
- Travel and meet with clients and prospects to strengthen relationships and support business growth
- Work independently while assisting with the training and development of less experienced brokers
- Develop and submit underwriting referrals to brokerage facilities and management as required
- Monitor key performance metrics, including new business production, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios, and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Provide guidance and mentorship to support the professional development of team members
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance experience, preferably with property placement expertise
- Strong sales and marketing skills with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Demonstrated commitment to continued education and professional development
- RPLU designation preferred but not required
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to travel as needed to support client and business development activities
