Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers
  • Identify sources, creatively place risks, and uncover new product opportunities
  • Manage accounts of varying sizes, with a focus on developing and handling complex property placements independently
  • Identify and cultivate new brokerage markets and products to expand business opportunities
  • Travel and meet with clients and prospects to strengthen relationships and support business growth
  • Work independently while assisting with the training and development of less experienced brokers
  • Develop and submit underwriting referrals to brokerage facilities and management as required
  • Monitor key performance metrics, including new business production, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios, and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support the professional development of team members

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance experience, preferably with property placement expertise
  • Strong sales and marketing skills with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued education and professional development
  • RPLU designation preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to travel as needed to support client and business development activities
