WHK Mold Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain all molds, fixtures, and dies used in production.
• Evaluate all said tooling and report to engineering on possible damage or excessive wear.
• Aid production in setup of molds and machinery.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance for production.
• Perform basic maintenance of molding machines, including liquid silicone molding machine.
• Aid in engineering team R&D activities.
• Aid in mold validation activities.
• Document mold change and machine adjustments including troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
• Makes effective technical decisions and communicates them to Engineering, Production, and management to support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Work with production personnel to ensure molded components meet requirements and make adjustments as needed.
• Generate documentation on mold runs for traceability and reproducibility.
• Work with Quality and manufacturing departments to ensure the quality of production and products produced meet company standards.
• Follow established procedures to maintain a clean and organized environment.
• Ensure safe working practices are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Previous manufacturing or machining experience preferred.
• Plastic injection molding experience a plus.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills required.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
