Responsibilities
- Adhere to general work requirements
- Perform all basic tasks with limited supervision
- Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
- Check and verify part and serial numbers to determine part configuration
- Disassemble components, remove coatings and clean individual parts in preparation for inspection of damage, corrosion and general condition
- Measure required parts for conformity to applicable manual or engineering specifications
- Record inspection and/or test results and determine pass, reject, or prescribe repair scheme
- Order necessary parts and/or components
- Replace, repair and/or overhaul aircraft parts
- Reapply applicable coatings to individual parts and reassemble components
- Machining tasks
- May perform Designated Inspector (DI) function as qualified by QA
- Assist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification
- Read and interpret engineering documents and maintenance manuals
- Conduct functional testing
- Operate and interpret precision tools
- Research and prepare parts and labor estimates
- Effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
- Comply with environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
- Participate in 5-S activities
- Perform work in a safe and timely manner
- Learn to operate ground support equipment
- Own and maintain hand tools with the ability to demonstrate inventory and control of tools
- Operate industrial vehicles and equipment (scissor/boom lift, forklift, etc.)
Requirements
- 1 year or more mechanical background preferred
