Wheelchair Van Driver
Location: Bedford
Schedule
Full-time, 6:45am–4:00pm Monday–Friday
Responsibilities
- Transport program participants to and from the day center and their residence
- Transport participants to outside appointments and activities as requested by the Transportation Supervisor
- Deliver medical equipment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous transportation experience, including experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs
- Prior experience in the geriatric field (helpful)
- Five years of driving experience
- Valid PA Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical
- Knowledge of the area roads in the program’s catchment area
- Ability to read a road map
- Professional and diplomatic interaction with participants and staff
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Mentally alert with the ability to plan and organize assignments efficiently
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to function in stressful situations
Candidates must pass a DOT physical and will be subject to random quarterly drug and alcohol testing for compliance with the drug and alcohol-free workplace policy.
