About the role

A professional caregiver provides compassionate and skilled support for those who require assistance due to disability, illness, or age-related needs. Family members and friends are often the primary providers of this type of care for a loved one. A professional caregiver can offer support through personalized home care services that benefit seniors. Professional caregivers can assist for a short time (respite care) or long-term, including 24/7 care. They can also provide one-to-one services in assisted living facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist with medication management and administration
  • Help with daily activities like eating, walking, and using the toilet
  • Monitor health conditions and report changes to healthcare providers
  • Engage in social activities and maintain a positive environment
  • Support residents in maintaining independence and dignity

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience in caregiving or related field preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass background check and drug screening
