WF Parks - Flag Football Referee

The West Fargo Park District is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to officiate youth flag football games. If you have a passion for football, a good understanding of the game’s rules, and enjoy working with young athletes, this is an excellent opportunity for you!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Officiate Games: Oversee K-8th grade youth flag football games and enforce rules to maintain fair play.
• Identify Penalties: Recognize and call penalties during games as needed.
• Ensure Game Flow: Facilitate a smooth and timely flow of each game.
• Communicate Effectively: Interact confidently with coaches, players, and parents, ensuring respect and professionalism on the field.
• Game Schedule: Officiate games on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday evenings for time slots at 5:30 pm and 6:50 pm, with 2-9 games a week depending on the schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have experience playing or officiating football.
• Strong understanding of football rules and penalty recognition.
• Confidence in making calls and enforcing rules.
• Comfortable dealing with parents and coaches in a professional manner.
• Able to work independently and maintain focus in a dynamic environment.
• Show up on time to ref games.
