Responsibilities
- Participate in preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities.
- Help identify equipment maintenance needs.
- Record mechanical equipment readings.
- Avoid inaccuracies in records kept.
- Prepare clear and concise reports.
- Conduct performance tests of plant equipment using various measuring devices.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, update and repair malfunctioning plant equipment.
- Maintain, repair and overhaul wetout plant equipment including, pumps and motors, compressors, valves, static mixers, pneumatic equipment and simple hydraulic pressure systems.
- Perform pipefitting; install and repair air and simple hydraulic piping systems.
- Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures including, but not limited to lockout/tag out and confined space rules and regulations.
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams for a variety of products and systems.
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment including but not limited to forklifts, semi-tractor/trailers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing type environment.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic statistical, algebraic and geometric concepts.
- Ability to use computer to enter data and do relatively routine calculations.
- Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams for a variety of products and systems.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Fundamentals of pipefitting and fabrication.
- Operational characteristics of maintenance equipment and tools.
- Metering and measuring devices related to electrical, hydraulic and mechanical devices.
- Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications.
- Plant shipping and receiving procedures.
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
