Wetout Maintenance/Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Participate in preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities.
• Help identify equipment maintenance needs.
• Record mechanical equipment readings.
• Avoid inaccuracies in records kept.
• Prepare clear and concise reports.
• Conduct performance tests of plant equipment using various measuring devices.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, update and repair malfunctioning plant equipment.
• Maintain, repair and overhaul wetout plant equipment including, pumps and motors, compressors, valves, static mixers, pneumatic equipment and simple hydraulic pressure systems.
• Perform pipefitting; install and repair air and simple hydraulic piping systems.
• Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures including, but not limited to lockout/tag out and confined space rules and regulations.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams for a variety of products and systems.
• Operate a variety of heavy equipment including but not limited to forklifts, semi-tractor/trailers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing type environment.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic statistical, algebraic and geometric concepts.
• Ability to use computer to enter data and do relatively routine calculations.
• Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams for a variety of products and systems.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Fundamentals of pipefitting and fabrication.
• Operational characteristics of maintenance equipment and tools.
• Metering and measuring devices related to electrical, hydraulic and mechanical devices.
• Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications.
• Plant shipping and receiving procedures.
• Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
