Wet Lab Operator

Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical cleaning of components: degrease acids and rinse tanks, alkaline cleaning tanks, ultrasonic rinses
• Calculate component plating area using actual part or drawing
• Electroplate components by adjusting to specified voltages and currents to yield desired thicknesses
• Inspect plating thickness as specified using XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence)
• Replenish chemicals in baths in accordance with laboratory analysis to maintain required concentrations
• Document work activities in both computer and paper logs
• Maintain work area in clean / orderly manner
• Clock in/out system usage
• Coordinate with other staff on status of in-process activities
• Inspect/PM equipment as specified
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Prior experience with industrial chemicals preferred
• Post-secondary coursework in chemistry desired
• Able to perform mathematical calculations
• Good mechanical aptitude and dexterity
• Good organizational skills, and able to give and follow oral and written instructions
• Able to read mechanical drawings / blueprints
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
