About the role

Jovie is seeking experienced caregivers to provide care to local families on evenings and weekends. The babysitting gig requires 3+ hours on Friday through Sunday, typically from 4pm to midnight.

Responsibilities

• Making and providing meals
• Engaging in activities such as arts and crafts, board/card games, baking, outdoor play
• Bedtime routine
• Staying with children until parents arrive home

Requirements

• 3 references, 2 from working with children
• Personal experience caring for younger siblings
• Relatable childcare experience (special needs experience a plus)
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification
• Available to work at least 2 shifts per week (Friday through Sunday from 4p-Midnight)
• Work environment is active, kid-centric, and includes clean-up of activities
• Part of each day may involve outdoor play, weather permitting
• Essential physical requirements: lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, pushing; ability to lift 35 pounds safely; frequent movement between sitting and standing; quick reaction to certain situations; calm, effective response to emergent situations

Qualifications

• Willingness to work one-on-one with children in their home, prioritizing safety

Skills

• Flexibility to work around a school schedule if applicable
• Ability to start with a few days per week if needed due to other commitments

Benefits

• Hourly wage starting at $16.50-$18
• Paid training and professional development including CPR/First Aid certification and additional childcare training
