About the role
The Wellness Nurse is a licensed RN or LVN responsible for coordinating resident care and medication management under medical supervision to promote residents' independence. They work on scheduled days off of the Health Services Director to provide consistent licensed medical coverage seven days a week.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with healthcare professionals to coordinate medical, dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Support Medication Technicians in their duties.
- Conduct resident assessments and document care in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Monitor resident health and communicate updates to physicians and staff.
- Oversee medication orders, storage, and delivery.
Requirements
- Valid California nursing license (RN or LVN).
- Proficiency in MS Office and office equipment.
- Knowledge of assisted living and dementia care.
- Ability to work patiently and effectively with seniors.
- Obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Pass background and health screenings.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including potential COVID-19 precautions.
