Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor nursing staff to obtain highest quality care.
- Make daily rounds of all Assisted Living residents and retirement residents if needed.
- Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to Director of Wellness.
- Administer medications and treatments per signed doctor’s orders in an accurate, safe manner.
- Order medication from pharmacy when needed.
- Supervise Home Health Aide to ensure proper nursing care is given.
- Administer emergency first aid.
- Assure daily assignments for patient care and incidental duties are carried out.
- Document V/S, weights, nurse’s notes, medication, kardex, etc., daily.
- Maintain cleanliness and neatness of nurse’s station, med room and cart.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff.
- Perform related work as required per assignment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state.
- Work experience in the geriatric field.
- Ability to communicate well and in writing.
- Ability to deal with visitors, staff and residents in a courteous manner.
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60lbs.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure at times.
- Must be able to perform good grooming practices, personal hygiene and be punctual and regular in attendance.
- Must have warm, friendly, congenial personality.
- Must present a professional appearance and possess an empathetic attitude towards seniors.
- Ability to assess a resident’s condition and intervene when needed.
- CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter.
Qualifications
- May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising.
- May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents’ apartments.
