About the role
The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is a non-profit organization dedicated to education, wellness, youth development, and community building. We seek a Wellness Coach I to support a positive member experience, oversee the wellness area, and assist members with equipment usage.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily program tasks related to the position's scope and responsibility, including monitoring the wellness center floor, helping members, enforcing policies, cleaning and checking equipment, and promoting wellness programs.
- Complete foundational courses for Health & Wellness, BLS training, and maintain national and YUSA wellness certifications.
- Avoid missing shifts by securing a substitute coach and attending required staff meetings and trainings.
- Assist in all aspects of the YMCA and community, maintain incident/accident paperwork, and promote member interaction and socialization.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Knowledge of general weightlifting and health/wellness concepts.
- Full access to Y-Exchange, YLINK, and Metro Atlanta YMCA Workday account.
- YMCA/ACE online certification and supplemental courses.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Effective time-management, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and solve problems.
- Working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel, and database management.
Ergonomics
- Sitting, bending, stooping, standing, 15% repetitive keyboard work, demonstrating equipment use, lifting to 45 pounds, and exposure to noise levels at an average of 90 decibels (music).
Pay and Benefits
The employment and benefits package for this position is offered through the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc. The salary range is $55,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year.
Employment Requirement
- Pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, motor vehicle record (MVR), and reference check.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
