Wellness Clerk
This recruitment is open to both external and promotional candidates. Promotional candidates will receive seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service, up to a maximum of 5 points). The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will remain active for one year or until canceled. There is currently 1 position available at Oceanside High School.
This position is funded through a categorical, restricted grant. If these funds are reduced, eliminated, or reallocated, the position may be modified, reduced, or released at the close of the funding cycle, following appropriate employment procedures and contractual/Education Code provisions.
About the Role
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of duties in support of visitors to the Wellness Center, including:
- Providing information and guidance to students and families needing additional support
- Organizing and supporting wellness-related services, school events, and community partnerships
- Scheduling student appointments
- Assisting with documentation and data collection
Requirements
Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to:
- Graduation from high school
- One year of experience working with students and families
Knowledge
- Student program objectives and functions
- Maintaining a safe and orderly assigned space
- Local community resources and social services agencies
- Purpose, goals, and objectives of public education
- Factors impacting student participation and achievement
- Applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations
- English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary
- Operation of computers and assigned software
- Basic record-keeping, reporting, and filing techniques
Skills
- Assisting students individually or in small groups
- Monitoring students in various settings
- Maintaining a safe and orderly environment
- Composing correspondence independently
- Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work assignments
- Working independently with minimal direction
- Maintaining records and files
- Compiling data and preparing reports

Schedule
