About the role
The YMCA of Greenville is a dynamic and rapidly growing association dedicated to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Wellness Associate I position plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to members, program participants, and guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet all members and guests, book appointments, and assist with questions regarding services and programs.
- Organize, maintain, and ensure the cleanliness of the wellness floor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well-organized work area.
- Give facility tours and orientations to new or prospective members as needed.
- Actively promote the Y, memberships, programs, services, and promotions available.
- Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by members/guests.
- Provide detailed descriptions of Y memberships, programs, services, facility features, and hours of operation.
- Properly open, perform daily tasks, and close the wellness area each day according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Set a good example in promptness, respect, manners, honesty, and caring for all members, program participants, and guests.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Attend/complete required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Follow mandated reporting requirements.
Requirements
- At least 16 years of age and/or Junior in High School.
- One year or more customer service/public relations experience preferred.
- A passion and basic understanding of healthy living and helping others reach goals.
- Actively participating in a healthy lifestyle.
- Detail-oriented, possesses strong organizational skills, and has the ability to multi-task.
- Efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiastic and possesses excellent customer service skills.
- Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Excellent communication, listening, and computer skills.
- CPR/First Aid, Blood Bourne Pathogen, and Child Abuse Prevention training within first 30 days of employment.
