Wellness Associate I

About the Role

The YMCA of Greenville seeks a Wellness Associate I to provide excellent customer service to members, program participants, and guests. Duties include greeting members and guests, booking appointments, answering questions about services and programs, and organizing, maintaining, and ensuring the cleanliness of the wellness floor.

Responsibilities

• Enforce YMCA and Wellness Department rules and policies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well‑organized work area.
• Give facility tours and orientations to new or prospective members as needed.
• Actively promote the Y, memberships, programs, services, lessons, and any available promotions or discounts.
• Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all member/guest requests.
• Describe Y memberships, programs, services, facility features, and hours of operation in detail.
• Open, perform daily tasks, and close the wellness area each day according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Model promptness, respect, manners, honesty, and caring for all members, participants, and guests.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
• Attend and complete required abuse risk management training.
• Follow procedures for managing high‑risk activities and supervising consumers.
• Comply with mandated reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age and/or a junior in high school.
• At least one year of customer service or public relations experience preferred.
• A passion for healthy living and helping others reach their goals.
• Active participation in a healthy lifestyle.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Enthusiastic with excellent customer service skills.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and enjoyment working with people.
• Excellent communication, listening, and computer skills.
• CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Child Abuse Prevention training to be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
