Wellness Aide AL

Key Responsibilities

• Check resident temperatures
• Assist with room changes; remove linen, sanitize bed, and replace with clean linen
• Assist residents in repositioning in bed
• Assist residents in transferring from bed to chair
• Auxiliary residents during mealtimes by, feeding, or offering hydration as needed.
• Auxiliary residents with bathroom care
• Auxiliary residents during oral care, hearing aid placement, and denture care
• Build positive relationships with residents by engaging in meaningful conversation and offering companionship
• Respond to residents' call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety, and privacy
• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of the community (dining room, lobby, and activities)
• Follow proper infection control techniques
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality
• Follow safe working practices and report any incidents promptly to the Clinical Director
• Treat all residents with kindness, respect, and dignity
• Attend all mandatory in-services; and complete timely all necessary Relias trainings scheduled to perform
• Auxiliary when needed with cleaning and sanitizing residents' rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms, and other areas within the community

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• No certification is required; training will be provided
• The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language is required
• The ability to react decisively and quickly in emergencies is required
• A compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude with a strong desire to help others is required
• The ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents, families, and coworkers is required
