Wellfield Geologist

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Senior Geologist, monitoring and observing well drilling operations.
• Record necessary data and analyze water samples.
• Characterize the underground structure based on cuttings and drilling process results and observations.
• Assist with wellfield data collection, hydrogeological characterization, and aquifer permit compliance activities.

Qualifications & Education

• Experience observing and recording well drilling operations and related activities is a plus.
• Well drilling or geological logging experience would be beneficial.
• Experience with wellfield sampling, analysis and monitoring is preferred.
• Database/data logger experience is preferred.
• Some familiarity with aquifer related regulations is preferred.
• Must be able to effectively manage time, set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, technical report writing experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or equivalent field is required.

Work Environment

• Rotating shift to support the 24/7 wellfield drilling program.
• Work in compliance with the Florence Copper’s site safety program.
• Significant amount of work performed in all-weather conditions outdoors.
• Some office work included.
