Primary Responsibilities
- Complete all welding required for the project including all required preparation and completion of quality welds.
- Maintaining readiness of equipment to complete all given tasking.
- As part of the team, participate in efforts to improve processes and procedures for welding and fabrication tasks that meet production and integration objectives.
- Support the development of jigs/fixtures, and support other related assembly and fabrication tasks.
- Collaborate with the project team to analyze technical documentation including drawings, schematics, and layouts, ensuring practical alignment with welding processes for production.
- Conduct inspections, tests, evaluations, and document results for equipment and processes, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize rework.
- Duties may include additional technician work as needed in disassembly / reassembly of components and systems in process for completion.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Associate degree in a related discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least five (5) years of experience in welding and fabrication.
- Required Skills And Qualifications: Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures; demonstrated skill in welding techniques and fabrication processes, including MIG, TIG, cutting/prep, metal work, etc.; Understand how to select the right tool or process for completing the given tasks and producing the required outcomes; Ability to perform routine work with flexibility for variations in complexity, collaborating with higher-level personnel for guidance when necessary; Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Highly Desired Skills And Experience: Formal training or certifications in welding (e.g., AWS or similar); Active DoD Secret clearance.
