Welding Subject Matter Expert

For our client, we are seeking a Welding Subject Matter Expert to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will serve as the technical authority for welding practices, supporting process integrity, workforce development, and continuous improvement across engineering and quality functions. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on expertise in TIG/GTAW welding and materials such as stainless steel, copper, and aluminum. This position also partners closely with quality and engineering teams to strengthen safety, training, and weld procedure standards in a remote, technically influential environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually Responsibilities Serve as the technical authority for all welding inquiries Design and deliver advanced training programs for workforce development Recommend and implement improvements to welding processes and tools Collaborate with quality teams on welding procedure specifications (WPS) Champion safety standards and practices in welding operations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 7-10 years of experience in TIG/GTAW welding Expertise in stainless steel, copper, and aluminum Ability to travel 50% domestically and internationally Must be eligible for employment without visa sponsorship, including CPT, OPT, or H-1B Benefits Opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives Engagement in R&D efforts for future projects Remote work flexibility from various states Mentorship opportunities within a technical leadership role Collaboration with quality control and engineering teams Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
