About the Role
Fitter/Welder is responsible for constructing and assembling mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Construct structural components based on blueprints.
- Fit structural components together to create finished systems.
- Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, pressure vessels, and building and bridge parts, according to blueprints and knowledge of fitting, welding, and metallurgy.
- Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
