Welding Operations
About the Role
As a Welding Operator in South Brunswick on First Shift, you will perform all-around maintenance and repair services across several crafts, including electrical, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, millwright, and painting, at a moderately complex level. This role requires applying skills in a primary craft gained from practical experience, diagnosing and executing emergency repairs, providing preventive and cost-efficient maintenance, and using shop machinery and hand tools. You will also act as a leader for less-skilled assistants and consult with engineers and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to plan layouts and procedures.
- Cut, shape, and clean metals using saws, angle grinders, and plasma cutters to remove grease, rust, or moisture.
- Join components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (flat, vertical, or overhead).
- Assess and test welded surfaces for flaws, ensuring they meet structural specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and set up welding machines (e.g., regulating gas flow, voltage, and wire speed).
- Follow strict safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as heat-resistant gloves, welding masks, and safety boots.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-core) and metal properties.
- Experience with hygienic or high-purity specialized TIG welding.
- Ability to stand for long hours, lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), and work in confined spaces or at elevated heights.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail to execute precise welds.
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
Qualifications
Professional certifications (such as those from the American Welding Society - AWS) are highly preferred.

Pay
Salary range: $44,996.00 – $64,280.00 USD.
