About the role
The Welding Instructor is a 9 month employee responsible for delivering classroom and hands-on instruction in welding processes, safety practices, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans and demonstrate proper welding techniques.
- Supervise lab activities and assess student performance.
- Maintain equipment and training materials.
- Develop and update curriculum to align with industry requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support program improvement.
- Participate in departmental meetings and student advising as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in Welding and Pipe work, with the ability to demonstrate and teach various welding processes.
- Experience with cutting and welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and TIG welding.
- Relevant industry certifications or licenses in welding; AWS, NCCER, or equivalent credentials preferred.
- Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience in a technical or vocational setting is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills, with a commitment to inclusive, student-centered instruction.
- Ability to safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot welding equipment in an instructional environment.
- Associate degree or higher in Welding Technology with 3 years experience OR 5 years experience.
